Creative Time Tunnel.
My friend Sheri emailed me with an item she came across on the Brooklyn Record site about a piece of public art at the Myrtle Avenue subway station. Look familiar? Turns out that it's the Masstransiscope, a project that Bill Brand did for Creative Time in 1980. It was nice to see this bit of history emerge with CT's 33rd anniversary coming up. They've got legs and they know how to use them.
The Brooklyn Record post included a link to an article from the day before in the Metro about the history of the work and Brand's desire to refurbish the piece. It was especially touching to read about how Brand still--to this day--gets calls and emails from people who were affected by the work. Resonance, baby.
